Moving mountains, together
Climate work needs every skill, and everyone should be able to join in.

PNW Climate Week is a volunteer-run series of climate events across Portland, Seattle and Vancouver, B.C. It exists to build community, welcome newcomers and turn talk into action. In March 2025, Climate Designers Seattle invited designers to give it a new identity in one week.

I led the creative direction. I invited two fantastic designers, Stacey and Cora, after reviewing their portfolios, looking for complementary skills and personalities. Et voilà, the TerraNova Design Team was born. We worked across time zones and delivered on time.
The brief asked for an identity that felt inclusive, optimistic and rooted in the Pacific Northwest. We drew a mountain from the letters P, N and W. It's hand-drawn because people are behind this work. Mountains stand for strength and for the problems we have to move together. Forest greens, sky blues and warm accents give each event topic its own colour, so people can find their way around.
We finished second, and the jury praised the work.
Design makes this kind of work possible, and I now see it as the way to remove barriers: more inclusive, more accessible, more sustainable, for everyone. This project is where that started.
Three letters and a mountain become one hand-drawn mark.
The primary logo brings together the icon and wordmark, as if the conference name were the landscape at the foot of the mountain.
One mark, many backgrounds.
Built for flexibility, from small social icons to large-scale print.
Jungle Giant brings personality. Avenir and Signika keep it clear.
Landscape colours, modified to avoid being too cliché.
Each event topic has its own colour for easy wayfinding.
The mark's line carries text, shapes and location pins.
One line runs across every card: Where energy generates. Where partnerships build. Where the future happens.
The identity across digital and print.
Three cities, one climate week.
